HCB exceeds production plan for the first nine months of the year by 2.3%
Hidroelétrica de Cahora Bassa (HCB), SA, registered, until the 3rd quarter of 2020, an energy production of 11,602.31 GWh, corresponding to 2.3% above the planned for the period under analysis, despite the adverse effects and COVID 19’s strict rules on the economy and on companies.
In the period under review, the sale of energy stood at around 19 billion Meticais, 1.7% above the planned level. This achievement allows the Company to continue implementing its projects for improving operational performance, ensuring full compliance with contracts with employees and customers, honoring commitments to Suppliers and Shareholders and paying taxes, fees and dividends in full and on time. It also allows HCB to proceed with corporate social responsibility initiatives.
HCB remains determined to reach the annual production target of 14,938 GWh in view of the adverse macroeconomic context, aggravated by exogenous shocks, including those of the spread of COVID-19.
