UP MAPUTO RECEIVES AMBASSADOR FROM JAPAN

Hajime Kimura, Ambassador of Japan to Mozambique, visited the Lhanguene Campus – Pedagogical University of Maputo on Friday (6th). The purpose of the Visit was to learn more about the Academic and Research Projects underway at this University. He also visited the Physics, Chemistry and Biology laboratories at the Faculty of Natural Sciences and Mathematics.

Sarita Herikson Director of Cooperation at UP MAPUTO said that the visit made by the Japanese embassy means a lot since the Japanese already cooperate with the college.

“We have been together for many years and especially in the field of natural sciences and mathematics, since two of our members have already studied in Japan and are now active professors at our University, I must emphasize that Japan has collaborated with the University in training of teachers, a fact that implies that we have to strengthen our partnership “.

Hajimi Kimura, Japan’s ambassador to Mozambique, pointed out that the main objective of the visit is to learn more about the University and keep up with the projects so that new paths and new projects can be opened.

“So far, I have already seen some points of which are positive to establish this cooperation, the Japanese embassy in Mozambique has already visited two Universities and we are satisfied with what we have already seen in the colleges we passed through and we believe that the cooperation will be welcome” highlighted Kimura

Japan is a traditional cooperation partner of UP Maputo and it is hoped with this visit that new ways of supporting new projects will be opened.
